1. MaestroQ - 1753 points

After the event, the winner (MaestroQ) was kind enough to send me a picture of him holding the game and his competition price.

In astrododge, you control your ship and have to avoid the rogue asteroids for as long as possible. A point is rewarded for each asteroid that is dodged succesfullly. Picking up the bonus pickups will gain you massive points. Highscores can be uploaded to the internet so you can compare you score worldwide. Additionally there are tasks you can perform to will unlock rewards in the game. These rewards can also be synced on the internet so you don't have to unlock them all in one session.
The game offers a single player mode as well as a 2-player versus mode. The latter is especially fun to play with a friend (or foe) as you both battle for the special pickups which zooming dangerously close past the asteroids on screen! How long can you survive the onslaught?

With the release of Mage around the corner, enjoy these Mage HD Wallpapers:
Monday, May 21, 2012 - Mage Teaser
This weekend i launched my new videopac game Colorclash at the retrofair in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands. The game is based upon my vectrex game with the same title, however due to the difference between systems, the details of the gameplay changed quite a bit. Instead of having levels and bonusses, this game requires a bit more strategy. By strategically shooting the right gems you can have 4 of the same gems on screen at once. When you shoot these 4 gems in a row, the game will decrease in speed and you will gain extra points.

The cool thing i noticed during launch is that the game really seemed to appeal to kids as well as adults, i had kids as young as 5 years old instantly getting the idea and start enjoying the game. Some of them returned a couple of times to beat the latest highscore. The best fun i had was a little girl that physically stepped sideways when moving the ship left and right ;-)
Anyways, this game is now available on this website, so get your copy today!
In preperation for my upcoming games for the ZX81, i've added my twirl demo from 2010 to the downloads section.
I am pleased to announce that i am currently working on releasing BRAND NEW games (developed in 2012) on Cassette Tape for ancient home computer systems like the ZX81 / Timex Sinclair TS1000 and TS1500 , MSX , Commodore VIC 20 , Sega SC-3000 and more. I will ofcourse also keep developing cartridge based games for other systems like Vectrex, Videopac, MSX and the Colecovision, but nothing breaths good old 80s nostalgia as those Cassette Tapes (Remember getting those covertapes attached to magazines like Zzap64 and Crash magazine?) .
Please let me know which systems you would like to see released new games for. Mail me ( info@revival-studios.com ) with the systems of your choice in the subject , if you like to stay informed on any new developments.
As you might have read below, i have started development on Colecovision and MSX platforms as of the beginning of this year. Today was the first time for me to step out of my cave and show the first fruits of my labour: A trailer & playable demo for AstroDodge for the MSX and Colecovision. Its always exciting to show new stuff for the first time, but luckily people at the fair seemed to like it a lot.
I would like to wish everyone a happy new year! 2012 will mark the 10 year anniversary of Revival Studios and personally i can't wait to create new releases for the Vectrex and Videopac, but also for platforms like the ColecoVision/MSX, Virtual Boy and more.
