MegaBlinky (2007)
This is the MegaChip conversion of the infamous Blinky game by Hans Christian Egeberg.
I adapted the CHIP-8/SuperChip version of the game and added a title screen, exclusive to the MegaChip version.
It is written in 100% CHIP-8 Assembler and uses the MegaChip extensions for colorized graphics.
Rescueing MegaBlinky:
I finished work on MegaBlinky in 2007. However shortly after finishing the game, my netbook stopped working and i switched to a new notebook and lost the original sourcecode. To make matters worse, the latest binary i had was full of bugs so i couldn't release the game as intented.
Fast forward 6 years to 2013 where i am going through old stuff that i was suppose to release but never got around to it, including my Megachip emulator and the MegaBlinky game. I wanted to go back to the game, complete it and release it but this was not going to very hard at best without the original sourcecode. I decided to write a CHIP-8 disassembler, disassemble the binary, fix it , assemble it again and release it. It took some effort but in the end i succeeded. As a result , not only was i able to release the original MegaBlinky, i now also have a Disassembler to release. I can now also use the disassembler to port more games and demo's to MegaChip8 and Chip8 64x64 native hires for the program pack on http://www.chip8.com in the near future.
